Our Story
Origins & Early Wins
9th December 1983 marked a new beginning when Mr Ashok Khemani transformed the family trading business into spirit production by founding Royal Distillery Pvt Ltd. It became one of the first molasses-based distilleries in Daman. Soon after, House of Khemani ventured beyond Daman into Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and other regions, becoming an early pioneer in India's alco-bev market. From category-leading brandy to a widely recognised whisky, our promise never wavered: a memorable experience, with quality uncompromised across value to premium.

International Alliance
In 1995, Diageo (then United Distillers) sent teams from London and Scotland to Khemani Distilleries to observe quality control, consistency, and scale of operations. Impressed by Khemani's premium-quality spirits and unmatched process with a swift turnaround, Diageo partnered with Khemani Distilleries for manufacturing, sales, and distribution in Daman, Silvassa, and Diu.

New Century, New Chapter
The dawn of the new century inspired House of Khemani to embrace opportunities beyond distillation. By acquiring a local brewery and establishing Blossom Industries Limited, the company not only strengthened its manufacturing and distribution capabilities but also brought beer into the fold. From the outset, Blossom Industries partnered with United Breweries Limited to brew for Kingfisher – a collaboration that ruled the good times for decades.

Newer, Scented Paths
The world of fragrance came calling – House of Khemani answered. Perfunova International Limited was launched to market premium perfumes in India, forming strategic tie-ups with international brands such as Jeanne Arthes and House of Lomani.

Millionaire Milestone
Royal Distilleries' Royal's Special sold one million 9L cases in a year, achieving millionaire brand status and solidifying its market leadership.

Local Markets and Global Alliances
With local markets secure, the group strengthened its international footprint, partnering with Coca-Cola to produce JD and Coke. Backed by a legacy in alcoholic beverages, a new era in non-alcoholic drinks followed. Contracts for Schweppes, Jameson Ginger Ale, Beefeater Tonic Water, and Ballantine's Soda for Pernod Ricard reinforced its role as a global manufacturing partner. Soon, it was making Ocean's Ginger Ale, Tonic Water, and an Energy Drink.
